James Bond Locations (www.jamesbondlocations.co.uk) is an independent fan site providing a database of real-world James Bond filming locations. We are not affiliated with Eon Productions, MGM or the estate of Ian Fleming.

We collect the following information when you register an account:

• Display name (chosen by you — does not need to be your real name)
• Email address
• Password (stored as a secure hash — we cannot see your password)
• Country (optional, chosen by you)
• Bio (optional, written by you)

When you log a visit to a location, we collect:

• The location visited and date
• Whether you found the location
• Your field report text (optional)
• GPS coordinates if you choose to verify your visit (your precise location at the time of verification)

We use your data solely to operate the site:

• Your display name and visit logs are shown publicly on the site
• Your email address is used only to send account-related emails (registration confirmation, password resets) — we do not send marketing emails without your consent
• GPS coordinates from verified visits are stored to confirm your visit was made on-location — they are not displayed publicly
• We do not sell, share or transfer your data to third parties
• We do not use your data for advertising or profiling

If you choose to verify a visit using GPS, your browser will request access to your device location. This is entirely optional — you can log visits without GPS verification.

When GPS verification is used, your coordinates at the time of verification are stored securely in our database. These coordinates are used only to confirm you were within 200 metres of the filming location. They are not shared publicly or used for any other purpose.

You can revoke location access at any time in your browser settings.

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in while you browse the site. This cookie is strictly necessary for the site to function and does not track you across other websites.

We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

We use Google Maps to display location maps. Google Maps may set its own cookies when maps are loaded — please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Object to processing of your data
• Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@jamesbondlocations.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.

Passwords are hashed using PHP's bcrypt implementation and are never stored in plain text. Our site uses HTTPS throughout. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Visit logs may be retained in anonymised form for site statistics.

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has registered, please contact us and we will remove the account.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
